Auberge Resorts Collection is opening the doors to its first branded residences in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains—and Robb Report got an exclusive first look inside. The Residences at Primland will officially launch this fall, giving a select few the opportunity to own a home on the 12,000-acre property in the Meadows of Dan, which has been privately held by the Primat family for nearly 50 years.
Primland’s founder, Didier Primat, built the resort as a retreat from everyday life—a place where guests could connect with the land and with each other in a setting that feels luxurious yet unpretentious. That ethos carries through to the new residences, which are seamlessly woven into the natural landscape.
The Auberge Residences, a collection of 25 fully furnished mountain homes designed by Hart Howerton, offer the most turnkey convenience. The abodes range from three to five bedrooms and are built to maximize views of the surrounding mountains. Floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive terraces make it easy to move between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing owners to cook alfresco, lounge by the fireplace, or take in the scenery.

Elsewhere, interiors mix rustic elegance with modern comforts—custom artwork, locally sourced light fixtures, natural stone countertops, Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, and private wine storage are cleverly integrated throughout. Primary suites feature freestanding tubs, rain and steam showers, and custom cabinetry, while guest rooms and recreation areas offer additional luxuries. Prices start at $6 million, and owners may opt to participate in the resort’s rental program.
For those seeking something more bespoke, the Estates offer 26 homesites along the mountaintop ridge. Ranging from two to nearly five acres, these parcels are positioned to maximize views of valleys and the Talbott Reservoir. Select lots allow for a tennis court, pool, or small horse pasture. Hart Howerton worked closely with the landowners to ensure each home fits naturally into the landscape. Homesites in the Estates start at $1.2 million.

“These unique mountain retreats have been designed with every detail in mind—creating homes for families and friends to enjoy their time in the mountains,” says Jim Tinson, FAIA-partner and CEO at Hart Howerton. “Each reflects the graciousness of a luxury Auberge destination, with the infrastructure of a full-time home.”
Beyond the residences, owners will have access to a full range of experiences. The property includes a Donald Steel–designed golf course, hiking and mountain biking trails, fly fishing, horseback riding, clay shooting, and all-terrain adventures. Wellness and leisure are equally considered, from the Auberge spa and yoga decks to a fitness center and a soon-to-open club pool. Dining ranges from casual fare at the Stables Saloon to fine wine and small plates in the Schlumberger cellar, with a specialty club restaurant planned for the future. They’ve really thought of it all.
