Despite being smack bang in the middle of Mayfair, this winter, The Connaught is inviting England’s hunting season into its cosseted walls with the launch of a new game menu.
Hosted at The Connaught Grill in partnership with British clothing brand and bespoke sporting shotgun manufacturer Purdeys, the limited menu will honor the hunting season with a line up of bespoke dishes by executive chef Ramiro Lafuente Martinez.
Available from now until January 31, 2026, the menu will feature classic British delicacies including venison wrapped in bacon; rabbit terrine with quail’s egg; foie gras tartlet, hazelnut and pickled cherry; and squab in a turnip and whiskey sauce. The Purdey Game Pie features as an homage to Purdey’s founder James Purdey – a squab, venison and rabbit pie was reportedly his favorite dish.

Desserts are equally as indulgent: warm Suffolk sheep’s cheese with plums and fig cake with fig leaf ice cream. Two wine pairings are available as an add-on, too.
“I’m lucky enough to visit some of the very best sporting estates across the UK with Purdey, and each season this reminds me of the huge benefit shooting provides to the countryside, conservation and to the rural economy,” said Purdey’s CEO and chairman, Dan Jago.
“This wonderful collaboration with our friends at The Connaught highlights the true full-circle aspect of the Game Season. It is such a special time of year that deserves to be celebrated, both honoring and sharing the respect we have for the British countryside and all it has to offer.”

More than just a menu, the Purdey experience at the Connaught Grill has extended into the restaurant’s aesthetics, too. Servers will be dressed up in the brand’s classic tweed and guests will be offered a choice of Purdey knife to carve their food. Even the bespoke cocktail – a combination of Sipsmith sloe gin, Billecart Salmon champagne and bergamot – will be served in a Purdey hip flask.
Each booking of the Connaught’s game menu will also include a private styling appointment at Purdey’s Mayfair store, as well as a private tour of Audley House. The brand’s (and indeed the wider Purdey family’s) London home since 1883, the historic building acts as a shrine to gunmaking history.
