Artificial intelligence firm Character.AI, which is facing multiple lawsuits over its alleged role in teen suicides and the sexual abuse of minors, confirmed in a statement Thursday that it had removed several characters generated by its customizable AI chatbot platform after the Walt Disney Co. accused it in a cease-and-desist letter of infringing its intellectual property.
