Fujifilm has announced the third iteration of its entry-level X-T30 interchangeable lens camera. The original debuted in 2019, while the X-T30 II launched in 2021 with minimal upgrades. The new Fujifilm X-T30 III also isn’t a complete reimagining of the camera, carrying forward the previous model’s 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 image sensor. But it comes with Fujifilm’s latest X-Processor 5 that powers some welcome new functionality.

The mode dial atop the previous model has been replaced with a Film Simulation dial on the X-T30 III, similar to what Fujifilm now includes on shooters like last year’s X-T50. The dial provides quick access to 20 different looks simulating the appearance of shooting on film, including black-and-white options for when you’re feeling especially artsy. The dial also has three positions for custom looks you can create by adjusting settings that include film grain, color tone, highlights, and saturation.

The X-T30 III is first and foremost a camera geared towards still photography with shooting rates that still max out at 20fps when using its electronic shutter, but that faster processor has allowed Fujifilm to introduce improved video capabilities. It can now capture 10-bit 6.2K footage at 30fps, while frame rates jump to up to 60fps at 4K, and 240fps at 1080P for slo-mo.

There’s still no in-body stabilization on the X-T30 line — you’ll need to step up to the $1,399 X-T50 for that. But the X-T30 III does offer faster autofocus, the ability to prioritize a subject’s face and eyes, and AI-powered subject recognition and tracking including animals, birds, cars, trains, insects, and airplanes, and drones.

Other improvements include better battery life with up to 425 shots captured in Economy Mode where the performance of autofocus and the camera’s tilting LCD display are reduced. The pop-up flash from previous models has also been carried forward, and if you want more than just the look of film, the X-T30 III can connect directly to Fujifilm’s Instax Link printers and crop shots to fit the company’s square and wide instant film formats.

The X-T30 III is expected to ship in November 2025 but is currently available for preorder starting at $999.95 (without a lens) from retailers like B&H in three color options: all black, black and silver, and black and charcoal silver. That makes it about $100 more expensive than the X-T30 II that launched at $900 a few years ago. The X-T30 III will also be available as part of a kit that includes Fujifilm’s new XC 13-33mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS lens for $1,149.95 in mid-December 2025.
