Trove Market has named Jayme Powell as its new CEO, effective Nov. 1, as the nonprofit prepares to expand its digital marketplace designed for entrepreneurs with disabilities.
Powell brings a deep background in workforce development, digital inclusion and cross-sector collaboration. She most recently served as executive director of the Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership, an initiative launched by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and the Detroit Regional CEO Group. In that role, she led programs linking business, philanthropy, higher education and government to advance economic mobility across the region.
Previously, Powell held leadership roles at Rocket Community Fund. There, she guided education and employment initiatives to broaden access to digital tools and career opportunities. She helped launch programs such as the Motor City Contractor Fund, the Connect313 digital-equity initiative and the Detroit Area Talent Fund. These efforts aimed at supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs and students throughout Southeast Michigan.

In her new role, Powell will lead Trove Market’s strategy to strengthen partnerships with nonprofit agencies, workforce organizations, and corporate allies while expanding marketplace access for sellers.
“Trove’s mission — to create economic opportunity and inclusion for entrepreneurs with disabilities — is one I deeply believe in,” Powell said in a statement. “I look forward to building on its strong foundation and helping it reach even greater impact throughout Michigan.”
Dave and Peggy Meador, founders of Trove Market, said Powell’s appointment marks a pivotal step in the organization’s evolution.
“Her visionary leadership, deep commitment to equity, and proven ability to unite diverse partners around a shared mission make her the ideal person to guide Trove’s next chapter,” they said.
Founded as the nation’s first online marketplace exclusively for entrepreneurs with disabilities, Trove Market provides accessible storefront tools, training and mentorship to help sellers grow independent businesses. The platform integrates features tailored for individuals with cognitive, physical or sensory disabilities, ensuring a seamless, barrier-free ecommerce experience.
Trove also partners with community organizations to deliver technical assistance, coaching and marketing exposure. Beyond generating income, the nonprofit aims to reduce social isolation by fostering connections among creators, customers and advocates.
Through Powell’s leadership, Trove Market is positioning itself at the intersection of accessibility, technology and entrepreneurship — using ecommerce not just as a business channel, but as a vehicle for inclusion and empowerment.
