It’s not just “the streets” that are talking about Gizelle Bryant’s not-so-secret romance with “new man” Shawn Springs on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
After some artful dodging — and an Ashley Darby-assisted deflection — the RHOP cast finally prodded Gizelle into spilling some tea about the recent development in her love life during the trip to Nevis on Season 10, Episode 5. As it turns out, Gizelle’s budding relationship with Shawn might be more “serious” than she initially let on.
“So, I realized I really need to be serious about my future and about a man,” Gizelle explained to the ladies during a post-dinner chat, before referencing her late father, Curtis Graves. “My father, before he passed, I remember one conversation that we had was like, ‘Look, you need to find a man that fits like a comfortable shoe.'”
That statement naturally led Stacey Rusch, who was the first to reveal the dating rumors, to ask if she got the “size right” with the NFL vet, while Jassi Rideaux more plainly asked Gizelle, “Do you see a future with Shawn?”

Though Gizelle confirmed that he was, indeed, a “comfortable” fit, she remained playfully tight-lipped on other relationship details, including whether or not they’d “had sex” and if Shawn had met her three daughters, Grace, 20, and 19-year-old twins Adore and Angel Bryant.
Though the women interpreted Gizelle’s coy response as confirmation of both topics — and how seriously they actually were — she offered some more clarity in a confessional.
“Actually, only one of my daughters, Grace, has met him,” Gizelle told a producer. “And she thinks he’s age appropriate and she thinks that he’s checking the boxes.”

Prior to divulging that info, Gizelle had already insisted multiple times that she considered herself to still be “single.” She made an important clarification, however, that her stance was, “You’re single until you’re married.”
What’s more, not only did she express excitement over an “amazing guy” that Angel Massie planned to introduce to her after they returned from the Nevis cast trip, but in a flashback with Keiarna Stewart, Gizelle detailed how she was “on the market” and still had “like four” men on her “dwindling” dating roster.
Prior to opening up more about Shawn, Gizelle also downplayed how serious their relationship was during a Nevis group dinner, earlier the same evening. At the time, Stacey had accused Gizelle of hiding the fact she had “a whole man” named Shawn in her life, displaying romantic-looking candid photos of the two from a blog post.

“That’s not a boyfriend; that’s a date,” Gizelle responded, to which Stacey clapped back, “That’s not what the streets are saying.”
As Gizelle added in an Episode 4 confessional, “If I’m around anyone, these girls automatically assume this is my boyfriend and he’s gonna be my fiancé and then he’s gonna be my husband. And actually, that’s not how life works.”
Regardless, when the other women asked if Gizelle was still dating Shawn at the time, she shared, “Yeah. He’s still around.”

According to Ashley, Gizelle met Shawn at a birthday party that all three had attended.
“He came very correct to her,” Ashley recalled during the aforementioned dinner in Nevis. “He was wearing a nice little Fendi sweater. He’s very intellectual. And they just went out on a couple dates.”
