The Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) is a popular premium rewards card with loads of perks to maximize. Plus, the card comes with a lucrative welcome bonus that allows cardholders to earn a large number of points upfront.

The Sapphire Reserve carries a high $795 annual fee, but its long list of premium benefits still makes it a top option in the premium travel category.

Here’s what to know about the Sapphire Reserve’s current offer and perks.

Check out Chase’s prequalification tool to see if you’re targeted for a 175,000-point bonus (after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening) on the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

    Chase Sapphire Reserve current offer

New Sapphire Reserve applicants can earn up to 175,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.

Per our November 2025 valuations, this bonus is worth up to $3,588.

To see if you’re eligible for this welcome offer, you can check Chase’s prequalification tool. This tool will tell you if you’re eligible for either the standard 125,000-point (which has the same spending requirements of $6,000 in three months) or the elevated 175,000-point offer (there will be no other offers in between).

    THE POINTS GUY

A haul of up to 175,000 Chase points can unlock incredible trips, especially when you transfer these points to one of Chase’s 13 loyalty program partners. You could fly in business class to Madrid on Iberia, book a round-trip business-class flight to Tokyo on All Nippon Airways or stay up to six off-peak nights at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa with this offer alone.

How does this compare to past offers?

In terms of points offering, this is the highest bonus we’ve seen in the card’s history.

    Application rules and restrictions

If you had been eyeing the Sapphire Reserve, but have previously refrained from applying because you hold another card in the Sapphire family, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, we have good news: Chase allows cardholders to hold both Sapphire products at the same time.

It’s important to note, however, that Chase has updated its terms on welcome offer eligibility. Before, you could earn a Sapphire welcome bonus every 48 months. Now, Chase has implemented new restrictions.

A Chase representative confirmed to TPG that, “Beginning June 23, 2025, you will be able to have both the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred cards. New account bonus offer eligibility for either card will be based on factors including previously earned bonus offers and the number of cards opened and closed, among others.”

Even if it’s been years since you received a welcome bonus on a particular Sapphire card, you almost certainly will not be eligible to earn another bonus on that same Sapphire card. Additionally, you may not be eligible for a Sapphire Reserve bonus if you’re a current Sapphire Preferred cardholder.

This is a new restriction on bonus-earning within the Sapphire family, so keep this in mind before applying.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (see rates and fees) is not included in this rule, so you could earn the bonus on the business card and still receive a bonus on the personal Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred.

Before applying, be sure to check which Sapphire Reserve welcome bonus you’re eligible for with the preapproval tool.

Why you should apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve

In addition to its valuable welcome bonus, the Sapphire Reserve has other benefits that make it an excellent premium option to keep in your wallet for the long term.

This card is particularly ideal for frequent travelers, Chase Sapphire lounge enthusiasts and those who would find value in the card’s list of new statement credits and perks. Let’s break it down.

    Earning rate highlights include:

    • 8 points per dollar spent on all Chase Travel℠ purchases
    • 5 points per dollar spent on Lyft purchases (through Sept. 30, 2027)
    • 4 points per dollar spent on flights and hotels booked direct
    • 3 points per dollar spent on worldwide dining purchases

Plus, the card’s multiple statement credits help make up for its $795 annual fee. These include:

    • $500 in annual statement credits (up to $250 biannually) for bookings of two nights or more made with The Edit, Chase’s luxury hotel booking platform
    • $300 in statement credits for travel purchases each account anniversary year (this credit is flexible and applies to all travel purchases automatically, up to $300)
    • $300 annual dining credit (up to $150 biannually) and primetime reservations at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables (which can be booked through OpenTable)
    • $300 in annual statement credits (up to $150 biannually) for concert and event tickets purchased with StubHub (through Dec. 31, 2027)
    • $300 annually in monthly DoorDash promos, up $25 each month (through Dec. 31, 2027; you’ll also receive a complimentary DoorDash DashPass subscription through the following date)
    • $288 in annual statement credits for Apple TV+ and Apple Music subscriptions (through June 22, 2027; one-time activation per service required)
    • Up to $120 in statement credits for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or Nexus every four years
    • $120 annual statement credit toward a complimentary Peloton membership, disbursed as $10 monthly credits (through Dec. 31, 2027)

Cardholders also receive access to Chase Sapphire lounges for themselves and up to two guests on top of a Priority Pass Select membership.

Authorized users can also receive lounge access for themselves and up to two guests. The authorized user fee on the Sapphire Reserve is $195.

The card also comes with complimentary mid-tier IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status (through Dec. 31, 2027).

If you spend $75,000 or more on the card in a calendar year, you’ll also unlock:

    • Top-tier IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status
    • Southwest Airlines A-List status
    • $500 Southwest Airlines credit when booked through Chase Travel
    • $250 credit to The Shops at Chase, Chase’s new online shopping experience

    Bottom line

If you’ve been eyeing a premium travel rewards card, now’s a great time to apply for the Sapphire Reserve. It features a superb welcome bonus of up to 175,000 bonus points. Before applying, be sure to check if you’re eligible for an elevated offer with the Chase’s prequalification tool.

The card also features an eye-watering $795 annual fee, but if you can maximize the credits it comes with, you’ll come out ahead.

It offers several valuable benefits for travelers to leverage and provides access to a growing number of top-tier airport lounges. Before applying, consider your traveling style and how the new statement credits factor into your spending strategy.
