Whitner Slagsvol quite literally made a splash in his debut as a new Southern Charm Season 11 cast member.
Viewers met Whit when he joined Shep Rose and Austen Kroll for some surfing on Season 11, Episode 2, and he wasted no time in showing off his sense of humor — or weighing in on the twisty romance brewing between Craig Conover and Salley Carson.
Referencing Craig’s recent breakup, self-described “single friend” Whit allowed Shep and Austen to fill in the blank while enjoying some post-surfing beverages, beginning, “Best way to get over somebody is to…”
As he starts his Southern Charm journey, here’s everything you need to know about Whit.
Who is Whitner Slagsvol from Southern Charm?
Inside Whitner Slagsvol’s relationships with the Southern Charm cast
As Shep explained in a confessional, “I’ve known Whitner for probably 10 years. We’re both fond of outdoor activities. His family’s from Columbia; my dad’s family’s right down the road in Camden. … So, we have lots in common.”
Separately, Whit described his family’s roots in South Carolina dating back to the Revolutionary War. “We have some big-ish names,” he teased. “Shep will tell you about all of his — whether or not you’re listening.” (Whitner is reportedly the nephew of Jimmy Buffett’s widow, Jane Slagsvol.)
The Season 11 newbie was also quick to point out “another difference” between him and Shep.

“I don’t have a trust fund,” Whit added, before cracking a joke about he has a job and actually has to work.
He also threw some lighthearted shade in law school classmate Craig’s direction, telling a producer, “We took the bar exam together. He was two years ahead of me. I passed it first.”
Craig, for his part, later added, “Whit and I went to the same law school. I think he was two years behind me, so we didn’t really hang out a lot. But his sister and I knew each other well.” A clip from 2017 rolled, showing Craig bringing Whit’s sister Sarah as his “date” to an event.

The line of men’s and women’s block printed shirts features 100 percent nature materials, modern collars, and unique, hand-tailored designs, according to the company’s Instagram page.
