Paul Walker’s 2005 Ford GT Can Now Be Yours

Here’s your chance to buy a vehicle that once belonged to one of the greatest car lovers to ever appear on the big screen.

A 2005 Ford GT that belonged to Paul Walker is currently up for bid on Bring a Trailer. The winning bidder won’t just get a car that was driven by the late Fast & Furious star; they’ll also be getting a beautifully maintained example of one of the best sports cars of the century.

It makes sense that Walker, who was just as much of an automobile aficionado as his most famous onscreen character, Brian O’Connor, owned a Ford GT. The sleek coupe—which came in at no. 6 in our ranking of the best performance vehicles of the century—is America’s first modern supercar. It debuted in 2005 and paid homage to the legendary GT40 that finished 1-2-3 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 (and would also win the race for each of the next three years). The ferocious speed machine was also rare, with just 4,038 examples rolling off the line during the two years it was in production.

Walker’s Ford GT dates back to the vehicle’s first year of production. Its retro-inspired body is finished in an elegant Mark IV Red paint job free of the model’s racing livery-esque graphics. Other factory options include red brake calipers and a staggered set of twin-spoke forged aluminum wheels (19 inches up front, 20 inches in the back). The interior is covered in Ebony Black leather upholstery and features air conditioning and a McIntosh CD sound system. That last feature leaves no doubt as to what era the two-door is from.

The car’s engine is just as attractive as its athletic exterior. The car’s first generation is powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V-8. The mill makes 550 hp and 500 ft lbs of torque, all of which is routed to the rear axle via a six-speed Ricardo manual gearbox. At debut, the car was capable of sprinting from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, covering the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 205 mph. Walker’s car has totaled just 3,700 miles since leaving the factory, so those numbers should still be attainable.

This Ford GT is likely to fetch a hefty sum by the time bidding closes on Thursday afternoon. As of press time, the car is guaranteed to go for at least $562,000, which is significantly more than it sold for at Monterey Car Week in 2021.
