    ZDNET’s key takeaways

    • Samsung will launch new 55- and 100-inch Micro RGB TVs in 2026, among others.
    • The TVs use a new LED technology to output highly accurate and vibrant images.
    • To further enhance output, the panels house a variety of AI-powered features, including AI Motion Enhance Pro for visual clarity.

Earlier in the year, Samsung broke new ground by being one of the first companies to launch a Micro RGB TV, and apparently, it’s just getting started. The brand just announced it will expand its lineup in 2026 to include TVs measuring 55-, 65-, 75-, 85-, and 100-inches. For reference, Samsung’s model sits at 115 inches.

There has been a good amount of hype surrounding these Micro RGB TVs, with LG also recently unveiling its first Micro RGB TV, as well. So, what’s the big deal? As explained by Samsung, the technology utilizes sub-100 micrometer RGB LEDs “that emit light independently [enabling] ultra-precise light control and improved accuracy” for the best picture possible.

Samsung’s upcoming Micro RGB TVs will also lean heavily on AI-powered features. These include 4K AI Upscaling Pro to enhance image clarity, AI Motion Enhance Pro to reduce motion blur, and Color Booster Pro to intensify on-screen colors, making content feel more lifelike.

Color accuracy is arguably the primary appeal of Micro RGB technology, and Samsung ensures this with Precision Color 100. The feature promises “unparalleled color expression” via refined light source and accurate dimming, allowing the future panels to cover the entire BT.2020 color space. Powering these abilities is the AI Engine Pro, a “next-generation AI chipset” design to deliver highly accurate, frame-by-frame image processing.

Other notable features include an upgraded Vision AI assistant that provides content recommendations among other things, Glare-Free technology to reduce reflections, and a speaker system tuned with Dolby Atmos. Samsung hasn’t shared exact pricing or launch dates for the expanded lineup, only confirming that the new Micro RGB TVs will arrive sometime next year.
