This Turks and Caicos Resort Has a New Pooldeck With a Swim-up Bar and an Infinity Pool Overlooking One of the Best Beaches in the World

Located on the white sands of Grace Bay Beach, The Palms Turks and Caicos already had everything you’d want in a beachfront resort: an infinity pool, a large spa, and a big stretch of uncrowded waterfront. But now, after an $18-million renovation, the 72-suite property has set an even higher bar for luxury getaways on the island of Providenciales.

The Palms originally opened in 2005 and debuted with five buildings constructed with Barbadian coral stone and embellished with Greek columns, island-inspired design, a 25,000-square-foot spa, idyllic gardens, and reflecting pools. Now, it has a new oceanfront pool deck, a creative Mexican-inspired restaurant, and tastefully reimagined guest rooms.    

“As we approach our 20th anniversary in 2025, this renovation stands as a powerful tribute to our loyal guests and our mission to elevate their experience,” Stan Hartling, CEO of Hartling Group, the hospitality management company that owns the resort, said in a press release shared with Travel + Leisure. “We’re not simply refreshing spaces—we’re setting the standard for opulence in Turks and Caicos, and this transformation takes it to new heights.”

The crown jewel of the renovation is arguably the pool deck. Here, guests can enjoy craft cocktails at the swim-up bar, take their meals in shaded dining areas lit by rattan lanterns, and rest in cabana-like alcoves on plush day beds decorated with handcrafted textiles.

Nearby is Sí Sí, the newest restaurant at The Palms Turks and Caicos. Led by chef Rajasekar Ravindran, who collaborated with Mexico’s chef Elia Herrera, diners can feast from a menu that celebrates traditional and contemporary Mexican cuisine with dishes such as cracked conch, braised beef brisket quesabirria, and freshly caught Caicos snapper served Veracruz-style. And don’t skip on the cocktails—highlights include the Green Flash, featuring rum, Galliano creme de menthe liqueur, and pineapple juice, and the house specialty, the Palm D’or, with locally made amber rum, fresh mint, Champagne, and pineapple and passionfruit juices.

But perhaps the most impressive aspect of the renovation is the guest rooms. Inspired by the resort’s Caribbean surroundings, guests can enjoy pastel, earthy shades, new lighting, new kitchen countertops with farm-style sinks, and completely redone bathrooms that make every space feel fresh and serene.
