Distribution Solutions Group (DSG) is preparing to expand its ecommerce capabilities.
While the company hasn’t announced specific details yet, CEO Bryan King confirmed that it plans to launch a new ecommerce site this spring. Distribution Solutions Group is a specialty distribution company serving the MRO, OEM, and industrial technology markets.
“We are still in the early innings of this transformation, which is changing the 73-year history of that company,” King told analysts. “This includes cultivating a strong culture that embraces tools and technology and providing more attractive incentives, mostly aligned around customer connectivity and sales growth for our employees.”
King emphasized that these initiatives would elevate Lawson Products, one of DSG’s subsidiaries, to a new level of customer engagement, growth, and profitability.
“We fully implemented our Salesforce CRM last year and plan to go live with our completely rebuilt digital platform in the first quarter of this year,” he said.

The company has also invested in enhancing its sales processes.
“We’ve improved sales reps’ onboarding by refining recruitment, training, and leveraging collaborative technologies between sellers,” King noted. “We continue to build and drive our predictive analytics tools out to the sales force and our customers to enhance everyone in the value channel’s efficiency.”
DSG’s digital transformation also includes an omnichannel approach, integrating various sales and customer service functions into a seamless experience.
“The omnichannel platform of tools includes and is centered around a large outside sales team, but now includes a nimble and resourceful inside team, an expanded set of technical sales specialists, and account service field sales support resources,” King explained. “Now, we have a robust digital customer interface platform with expanded enhancements that will further support our new and existing customers in whatever manner they prefer to engage.”
TestEquity, another DSG subsidiary, is also focusing on digital enhancements.
“Our strategic direction will continue to revolve around expanding wallet share with customers, driving repeatable business on the consumables and services side, and optimizing digital selling capabilities to supplement and leverage our technical and field sales talent investment,” King said. “We believe supply chains have mostly normalized for our key vendors and are encouraged by many of them wanting to expand collaboration with us.”
DSG’s financial performance reflects its expansion strategy. Revenue in 2024 reached $1.80 billion. That’s an increase of $233.7 million or 14.9%. It includes $268.2 million from acquisitions. Organic revenue declined 2.6% compared to 2023. The company reported a net loss of $7.33 million, an improvement over the $8.97 million loss in 2023.
With its ecommerce platform set to launch, Distribution Solutions Group is positioning itself for long-term growth. It will leverage digital tools to drive efficiency, customer engagement, and sales, the company says.
