Amazon is already reminding FBA sellers about its 11th Prime Day sale and is giving them until May 15th to get inventory to its AWD upstream facilities if they wish to gain an advantage.

It’s difficult for sellers to know how much inventory to send to fulfillment centers to take advantage of the heavily promoted sale, since sending too much means paying extra storage fees, but if they send too little, sellers lose out on the opportunity to generate additional sales. Not to mention Amazon tightly controls how much each seller can send to FCs through “FBA Capacity Limits.”

Amazon Warehousing & Distribution (AWD), launched in 2022, stores sellers inventory in bulk with the promise of forwarding sellers’ inventory to fulfillment centers more efficiently. In an announcement on Monday, Amazon told sellers the following:

“Prime Day is only a few months away. Plan ahead and send your inventory early to Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD).

“By sending inventory to AWD by May 15, you can guarantee it’s Prime-badge ready in the Amazon store for Prime Day. Make sure you also take advantage of the expanded capacity in our recently launched distribution centers in the South Central, South East, and East Coast of the US.

“Don’t miss out—send your inventory to AWD by May 15 and secure a Prime Day advantage.”

This month, Amazon is holding its Big Spring Sale, which is open to Prime members and non-members. Amazon had originally stated that the event would kick off on March 25, but removed the date from its announcement on February 26th.

Amazon is holding a Big Smiles sale in Australia that kicked off on March 17 and runs through March 23rd. Amazon Prime Day sales are generally held in mid-July.
