Aesha Scott revisited the early chapters of her “fairy tale” love story.
After embarking on a world adventure with her fiancé, Scott “Scotty” Dobson, the Below Deck Mediterranean yachtie revealed more details about their relationship. Aesha posted a heartwarming Instagram carousel documenting her and Scotty’s unusually long first date. And we mean long.
Aesha looks back on her and Scotty’s first date
“Looking back at some photos of mine and Scotty’s first ‘date’ (two weeks long),” she captioned the April 3 carousel. “What a wonderful journey we have had!!”
Aesha reminded fans she had known Scotty since high school but the romance didn’t begin until “years later,” when they reconnected on Instagram. After months of DM exchanges, Aesha decided to visit Scotty in Colorado to determine if they had chemistry in “real life.” Needless to say, the “spark” was still there.
The first photo was taken at the Continental Divide, shortly after Aesha landed in Denver. The pair then hit the road for a two-week-long “trip in Scott’s converted ambulance.”
“[It] was the first date of my dreams,” Aesha wrote. “We started in snowy Colorado where we snowmobiled way out back country to an old cabin and we lit a fire and drank wine and played cards.”

The pair traveled around Colorado before making their way to Utah, where they camped, hiked, and canoed.
“A particularly pinch me experience was getting our canoe taken up to the very top of the Colorado River where we canoed down [and] camped on the bend of Horseshoe Bend!!!” Aesha recalled. “SURREAL!! Scott also taught me to climb on ‘Wall Street’ in Moab, and we did countless long scenic tandem bike rides. It was all so new and exciting and like a fairy tale. Feeling so lucky I found my ultimate adventure buddy.”
The photos showed Aesha and Scotty on snowmobiles, rock climbing, and enjoying the gorgeous outdoor views. The final slide captured the couple leaving a New Zealand beach just moments after Scotty popped the question.
“The way we started our relationship was so incredible, but partly due to the fact we lived in different countries so it had to be two weeks long to make me flying there to see him worth it,” she continued. “I just don’t want anyone who had a perhaps simpler beginning to compare theirs to this story and think it has any less value because all love and it’s beginnings are beautiful and magical.”
Aesha reveals her and Scotty’s 2026 wedding plans
Aesha and Scotty got engaged in May 2024, shortly after they bought a house in New Zealand. The pair initially wanted to tie the knot in 2025 but postponed the ceremony to March 7, 2026. Aesha dished on her wedding plans during a 2024 interview with The Daily Dish, saying she envisioned an outdoor wedding in her home country.
“I would love to do it by the ocean, looking out to the water,” she said. “Definitely in New Zealand. That’s where both of our hearts are. We want to make it convenient for as many attendees as possible, so we would love to do it close to our hometowns.”
