Vicki Gunvalson is no stranger to surprises — she loves when they happen to her, and loves doling them out. But The Real Housewives of Orange County alum was taken by surprise when she recently lost a tooth while at a work conference.
Vicki and her My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast co-host, Christian Gray Snow, took to Instagram over the weekend, where they shared a look inside one of the recent, hilarious text message exchanges between them. In the screenshot, Vicki can be seen in a selfie, showing off a missing veneer located in the bottom front row of her mouth. This couldn’t have come at a worse time for Coto Insurance CEO, who was in the midst of attending a “big CEO conference.”
“I lost a tooth and we’re in the middle of nowhere,” she wrote in a text message to Christian. “There is no glue.”
Her podcast co-host, however, had the most perfect response to seeing the photo. “VICKI WTF,” he wrote.
Vicki Gunvalson explains how she “lost a tooth” in Las Vegas
This hasn’t been the first time that Vicki has lost a veneer. She took to her podcast in December 2024, where she recalled how she lost a tooth while on vacation in Las Vegas, where she was sitting down to dinner with her friends and longtime boyfriend, Michael Smith. “So I bit into a piece of bread — put my butter on it because I love butter — and I lost a tooth. Oh yeah,” she explained. “So I’m like, crunch.”
Vicki continued, noting that she had no idea what caused the “crunch” because there were “no currants in there, no pecans,” she said of the bread. “I’m with a bunch of people at the table…I go, ‘Oh my God. Here’s my tooth. I have veneers. Michael’s like, ‘What is going on with you?’ I said, ‘I lost my tooth…What am I supposed to do with it?'” she recalled.
Luckily, she was able to put it in a bag and bring it back to Orange County with her. “They just have to glue it,” she noted at the time.
Vicki Gunvalson opens up about her “smile transformation” and veneers
This incident in Las Vegas inspired Vicki to make some changes to her smile. “I’m getting all my veneers replaced next month because they’re 20 years old,” she said during the December 2024 podcast episode. “[My doctor] was afraid they were gonna start falling out. I’m like, ‘Wonderful.'”
Vicki did just that earlier this year when she went to the dentist for a “smile transformation.”
Vicki showed off her updated veneers in a March 6 Instagram post, featuring cosmetic dentist, Dr. Tyler Hales. “I now have a natural-looking, customized smile, that enhances my features, all with minimal prep,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
Speaking of updates on her appearance, look back on Vicki’s major hair transformations throughout the years.
