Cadillac will end production of its XT6 3-row SUV by the end of the year.
Reuters reports, “General Motors is discontinuing the Cadillac XT6 gasoline-powered three-row SUV at the end of 2025, the automaker said on Tuesday.”
Our editors like the XT6 for its spacious interior, available Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system, and reasonable starting price for a luxury SUV ($50,590 including a $1,395 destination fee). But we find its cabin materials underwhelming for a luxury car, and its third row sparse.
Cadillac has already introduced its replacement. The all-electric Cadillac Vistiq, due for model year 2026, is similar in size with a tech-heavy interior and likely as much as 500 horsepower.
Dealers still have plenty of XT6 models in stock. A discontinued model is often a sensible choice for many buyers. Automakers have had plenty of time to correct any design problems in a car near the end of its production cycle, and dealers are often willing to accept lower offers to get them off the lot and make space for something currently advertised.
That may not be true this time, as dealers adjust to heavy tariffs on new cars and car parts. CNBC reports that the decision to cancel the XT6 is “unrelated to tariffs, according to a company spokesman.” Dealers may be unwilling to negotiate low prices on new cars this spring, as they know they’ll have to pay higher replacement costs for each new car they sell.
