The San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice is located on a private island and just opened The Longevity Spa.

Inspire by inspired by “Blue Zones,” the spa specializes in anti-aging and “biohacking” treatments.

Other luxe amenities include an outdoor heated pool, sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation area, and fitness facilities.

Venice might be a city known for overtourism, but what some travelers may not realize is that the “City of Water” is actually made up of 118 small islands. While crowds tend to descend upon San Marco, the tourist hub home to St. Mark’s Basilica and the Bridge of Sighs, other Venetian destinations provide a more private, exclusive experience.

Case in point: San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice. Just a 10-minute boat ride from Piazza San Marco, the resort is located on a private island. Sprawling gardens, views of the lagoon, a historic chapel, and several gourmet dining spots ensure guests never need to leave the peaceful retreat (unless they want to, of course). And now, there’s an entirely new reason to visit this calm oasis.

This month, the resort unveiled its newest addition: The Longevity Spa. Described as a “holistic, multidisciplinary spa concept designed to optimize vitality, rejuvenation, and longevity,” the idea was created in partnership with The Longevity Suite, a European brand specializing in anti-aging and “biohacking.”

“The launch of The Longevity Spa represents an exciting evolution for our private island—bringing together world-class wellness expertise with the natural beauty and serenity of Venice,” Emir Uyar, chairman of San Clemente Palace, said in a press release shared with Travel + Leisure. “It’s another step in our commitment to creating transformative guest experiences that are both luxurious and deeply restorative.”

As you may have guessed, the spa goes beyond facials and massages. Along with an outdoor heated pool, sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation area, and fitness facilities, it offers a roster of treatments, therapies, and personalized wellness programs, as well as diagnostic services (like DNA testing, hormonal assessment, and gut microbiota analysis).

One of the most interesting aspects of the spa, however, is its incorporation of elements and rituals inspired by “Blue Zones” around the world, aka regions where people are said to live the longest. To “enhance vitality, balance circadian rhythms, detoxify the body, and rejuvenate the spirit,” the team uses elements like Mediterranean salts, fermented rice water, antioxidant-rich wine, and volcanic mud in its treatments—things you’ll find in Loma Linda, California; the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica; Ikaria, Greece; Okinawa, Japan; and the Italian island of Sardinia.

Guests are welcome to enjoy individual treatments—like the Sleep Better Experience, which includes 10 minutes of cryotherapy and an 80-minute massage—or book longer, more immersive retreats. Either way, they’ll get to enjoy herbal teas, nutrient-rich snacks, and smoothies from The Longevity Kitchen—and leave feeling significantly more rested and rejuvenated.
