Erika Jayne learned about Dorit Kemsley’s divorce filing the same way many fans did: on the internet.

    How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Peacock and Bravo.

“I literally just found out online like everyone else, maybe an hour ago,” she told Us Weekly on Friday, April 25. “Obviously, I reached out to her. She’s got more important things to do than to talk to me right now.”

Erika Jayne says she feels “badly” for Dorit Kemsley

The comments came just hours after numerous outlets confirmed Dorit had filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley. Erika said she sympathized with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom, as she knows firsthand how divorce can affect a family. In 2020, Erika filed for separation from Tom Girardi after 21 years of marriage. Her divorce has yet to be finalized.

“How does anybody feel when they hear that a family’s broken up?” Erika added. “You feel badly. This is sad. It’s a sad thing.”

Dorit Kemsley and Paul “PK” Kemsley announce their split

Dorit filed for divorce roughly a year after she and PK announced they were separating after nine years of marriage.

“We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together,” they wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “To safeguard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children. We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do the work necessary throughout this journey.”

Dorit Kemsley opens up about co-parenting with Paul “PK” Kemsley

Dorit and PK’s marital split was explored throughout RHOBH Season 14, as they continued to co-parent their young children, Jagger and Phoenix Kemsley. Dorit shed more light on the split in Episode 10 (February 4), when Kathy Hilton said she believed PK was “a very good father.”

“Wrong,” Dorit said before expanding in a confessional. “There are times that I think PK’s the greatest father in the world. But is he the most hands-on father? The truth is, no. He would disappear and be gone for weeks and weeks without even calling the kids. I worked overtime to put in their heads that their father was trying to call, wanted to see them, missed them so much. I’ve protected him at all costs no matter what, and I don’t think he realizes that.”

Dorit walked back her comments on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, saying she felt “lucky” that PK was the father of her kids.

“In that moment, that’s what came out of my mouth and it’s how I felt because, for me, everything that I do and the decisions that I make, even in our separation, there is never a moment that I don’t consider what’s best for the kids,” she said.  “It’s one of those things, if I’m honest, that I didn’t feel great about the next day.”
