A new spate of antitrust lawsuits accuse the nation’s largest renters of construction equipment, such as forklifts, excavators and bulldozers, of a price-fixing scheme.
At least 10 class actions have been filed by individuals and businesses in the past month targeting Rouse Services and its parent company, RB Global, which provide benchmark pricing to the rental companies. The lawsuits allege Rouse and the rental companies have conspired to create an unlawful cartel to boost the price of construction equipment rentals in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act.
