Shamea Morton hasn’t abandoned her baby plans.

    How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta Sundays 8/7c on Bravo and streaming next day on Peacock.

Although she’s already a mom to two adorable girls — 6-year-old Shya and 2-year-old Shiloh — The Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie has repeatedly expressed her desire for a baby boy. Shamea addressed the potential family addition in a recent interview with Decider, saying she and her husband, Gerald Mwangi, were still hoping for a son.

“Oh, my goodness. Please, somebody give me your boy! Give me your baby boy, I’ll take him!” she joked. “No, I still do hope that I could be a boy mom and give my husband a junior or a son. It has not happened yet.”

Shamea Morton says she and Gerald Mwangi are “trying to have a boy”

The comments came more than two months after Shamea shared an update on her baby journey. During her March 16 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Atlanta native revealed she had planned to welcome another child with the help of Shadina Blunt, the cancer-surviving surrogate who gave birth to Shilo as well as Kandi Burruss’ youngest daughter, Blaze Tucker.

“[Shadina’s] doing great, cancer-free, and just living her best life… She’s doing really well,” Shamea said during her Clubhouse visit. “She’s actually helping me with this next journey into surrogacy. We’re trying to have a boy, so…”

Shamea has since confirmed a big change in her and Gerald’s pregnancy plans.

“Unfortunately, the surrogate that we just introduced on the show did not work out,” she told Decider. “But we do have a new surrogate, so I don’t know, maybe [RHOA] Season 17, you’ll get to know the new one, and there’ll be a baby on the way. But as of right now, just send some prayers our way. Hopefully we’ll get a boy soon…

“It’s gonna all work out how it’s supposed to, but worst case [scenario], I’ve got two beautiful daughters and I can’t complain,” she continued. “A lot of people didn’t even get to have that. I have so many DMs, and people are sharing their stories because of my vulnerability and the transparency in showing my troubles with fertility and my IVF (in vitro fertilization), surrogacy journey. It’s opened up this new wave of friendships for me.”

Shamea Morton shares a message for those dealing with fertility issues

Shamea has been quite open about her pregnancy issues, including seven failed IVF cycles and an ectopic pregnancy. She said she was grateful to have a platform to shed light on the struggles, but urged viewers to seek advice from medical experts.

“I’m not an OBGYN. You gotta go to the doctor and have that checked out,” she said. “But I can tell you my experience. So many people are having trouble just procreating and growing their family. So I just say, ‘Hey, you know what, I’m hopeful with you guys. We’re sharing together, and it can happen. And for those that it has not happened for yet, delay is not a denial.’”
