If you want a sweet companion for your azaleas, then try planting a blueberry bush. Plant the two in acidic soil with full sun, and you’ll enjoy both springtime blooms and a juicy harvest.

Evergreen rhododendrons and azaleas are both members of the Ericaceae family, and the two get along famously. They’re both favorites of springtime garden enthusiasts thanks to their colorful blooms. Both prefer acidic soil, and both can thrive in partial shade.

Both hydrangeas and azaleas like full sun to partial shade and do best in acidic soil, so these two flowering shrubs are the perfect garden companions. Plus, they don’t bloom at the same time, so your garden color is extended from spring through mid-summer.
