Mercedes has recalled 94 electric vehicles (EVs) and a plug-in hybrid version of its flagship sedan because they may not sound a required beep when reversing.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2025 Mercedes-AMG EQE sedan
- 2023-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
- 2023-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV
- 2024-2025 Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV
- 2025 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
All of the cars make some sound as they reverse, Mercedes says, but the sound “might not be consistent within a model year.” Some reverse beeps might not meet federal safety standards.
Mercedes can fix the issue with a software update. Software updates are typically quick service appointments.
