Austen Kroll is moving along with his house renovations, even after welcoming two fur babies into his home.
The Southern Charm cast member shared an honest look at pet-parent life in a recent series of Instagrams. Austen posted a video of his home’s newly stained hardwood floors, which he attempted to protect with plastic tarps and masking tape; however, the shield was no match for Austen’s kittens, Piper and Martini, who managed to rip through the plastic and leave their little paw prints all over the new floors.
“So cute… until they tear through the protective barrier to your newly stained floor and leave their little cat prints all over it,” Austen captioned a Story. “*deep sigh*”

The Southern Charm-er returned to Instagram on Tuesday, July 1, sharing another amusing video of Piper and Martini. The clip began with Martini lounging next to the plastic coverings before Piper ran into the frame and started playing. Austen immediately let out a laugh as he watched the cats jump around the hardwood floors and scurry away.
“[Hashtag] Catdad,” he captioned the clip, which concluded with a sigh.
Since adopting Piper and Martini last month, Austen has added a few cat items to his Charleston home. We’re talking everything from a window perch to “expensive beds” to a cutting-edge feeder. Austen showed off the latter in a recent Instagram post.
“This automatic feed w/a camera has been a game changerrr,” he captioned the Story.

Meet Austen Kroll’s new cats, Piper and Martini
Austen introduced Piper and Martini on June 16, which also marked his birthday. He shared a grip of photos and videos of the pets hanging out in their new home, looking all kinds of cute and cuddly.
“Happy Birthday… to me! Meet Piper and Martini, the newest little stars of [Southern Charm] and my [heart emoji],” he wrote. “Sorry in advance to non cat lovers, but my IG stories about to be.”
Austen Kroll upgrades his Charleston home
The introductions came four years after Austen purchased the 2016 home for his birthday.
“I am like an impulse shopper. I don’t like to go in and shop around and try on a bunch of things. It was kind of the same thing with my house,” Austen told The Daily Dish in 2022, adding that the house was “basically a turn-key property.”

Although the home was relatively new and equipped with essential appliances, Austen decided he’d update the house little by little. He has since redecorated his living room, elevated his bedrooms, and renovated his kitchen. The entrepreneur is now gearing up to transform his bathroom… unless he decides to buy a new house.
