Katie Maloney has sported so many hairstyles over the past few years. But one of her most memorable has to be from Vanderpump Rules Season 2, when she had golden blonde hair.
The Something About Her co-owner took to her podcast, Disrespectfully, earlier this week, which she co-hosts with VPR alum and BFF, Dayna Kathan. During the podcast, Dayna asked her about her “[VPR] Season 2 golden hair.”
“What did you put on your hair to make your hair that color? Was it just bleached?” Dayna asked.
“No, I was getting it professionally lightened,” Katie admitted. Katie revealed that her hairstylist was “lifting it slowly” over time, as she had been brunette during Vanderpump Rules Season 1.
“But I started filming that season mid-process of it all,” she continued. “So I couldn’t all of a sudden just become like, platinum blonde.”
But she has no regrets about her hair transformation. “You know, it wasn’t terrible,” she added. “It’s just in some photos, it looks a little odd. In person, it wasn’t too bad.”
“I also think it’s kinda iconic,” Dayna concluded.

The hair was even a surprise for Katie’s ex, Tom Schwartz, whom she was dating at the time. Tom filmed a video for BravoTV.com of Katie coming home from the salon at the time, where they talked about this new change for her. “Bubba, you’re blonde!” he said in the video.
“I’m like a shade of blonde,” Katie replied. “It’s kinda like a caramel-y, honey kinda color.”
“It’s a little orange-y,” he admitted. “But it looks good!”

But this isn’t the only time that Katie was blonde. In throwback photos from her childhood, Katie can be seen having sandy blonde-colored hair.

In one set of photos from her childhood, Katie can be seen lifting some weights and wearing a leotard, while her blonde hair was fashioned in some blunt bangs. She looked so cute.

“It varies (obviously) but it always depends on my mood,” she wrote. “And I usually match my mood or try to invoke a mood. [Interpret] this however you want, but sometimes I’m like, ‘Damn, I feel like wearing something slutty.’ And other times, I’m like, ‘I want to wear the baggiest clothes I can find.’ I like [to] mix media and patterns and textures and things that are unexpected.”
