Ferrari recalled 541 Purosangue SUVs from model years 2023-2025 because of an electrical problem that could make their brakes less effective.
The automaker tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “the layout of the fuse box’s power supply and the passenger-side footrest might cause a short circuit.” The two components, which should be permanently separated, can touch, triggering decreased braking capability and a brake warning light.
If it happens, drivers will see a “pop-up message informing the driver to slowly bring the vehicle to a dealer.”
The company knows of no accidents related to the problem, though it happened to at least one customer’s car in China.
Dealers will fix the problem by installing a plastic spacer in the fuse box to prevent the parts from touching.
