Agilis and Elemica have introduced a joint platform that connects digital customer ordering with supply chain execution systems for chemical manufacturers and distributors.

The companies said the system is the first in the sector to link online commerce tools with network-based order fulfillment, logistics, and invoicing. Their platform combines Agilis’ ionicPIM product data and commerce software with the Elemica Network and iFlow Platform. They designed it to guide buyers from product discovery and ordering through fulfillment, proof of delivery, and payment on a single system.

“By uniting our expertise in product data digitization, digital customer experience, and commerce with Elemica’s global multi-enterprise execution network, we are delivering the industry’s first end-to-end solution,” said Agilis CEO Jay Bhatia.

Elemica CEO Paul Carriero said the platform addresses a gap between digital storefronts and back-end execution systems.

“Manufacturers need both sides of the equation,” he said. “A modern digital buying experience and the ability to execute simple to complex orders across their networks.”

The launch comes as chemical producers struggle with:

    • Fragmented enterprise resource planning systems
    • Inconsistent product data across channels
    • Manual order handling that can slow fulfillment and raise costs

Research from McKinsey & Company shows more than 75% of B2B buyers prefer digital or remote channels. Meanwhile, 39% are comfortable placing orders of $500,000 or more online.

Agilis and Elemica said their combined platform can be deployed in three to six months. That compares with the 18 to 36 months often required for custom-built systems. The companies said it is available immediately to chemical manufacturers and distributors seeking to digitize customer engagement and automate order execution.
