Whitney Rose is opening up about issues in her marriage to husband Justin Rose like never before on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
As an extra treat at the lunch that she hosted for her castmates on Season 6, Episode 5, Whitney flew in a New York-based “intuitive consultant” named Terence to provide individual psychic readings. Her own session had barely begun when he tapped into “communication” problems and business-related “frustration” running rampant in the Rose household.
Terence’s reading instantly resonated with Whitney, who had previously revealed that she and Justin went “all in” on a business venture that ultimately “failed” and left them with “nothing.”

“Wild Rose Beauty was the thing that finally made me feel equal in our marriage,” Whitney elaborated in a confessional. “Looking back, Justin showed no interest in it. And I didn’t realize how much I needed Justin’s approval and how much it hurt me that he didn’t want to be a part of Wild Rose Beauty.”
As she concluded while wiping away tears, “It’s hard, because I love Justin, but I also resent him and I don’t feel like I can talk to Justin about these feelings right now. Our marriage is beautiful, but communication is the thing that we struggle with.”
How Justin Rose’s job loss impacted Whitney Rose
Marital troubles aside, Justin’s own past career setback indirectly inspired Whitney to host the day of “love, wine, sunshine, and good vibes” for the other RHOSLC ladies at a local vineyard. In the aftermath of Justin getting fired from his job — which she previously attributed to her status as a public figure during Season 3 — Whitney said she had struggled with her own identity.
In her welcome toast, Whitney recalled “going through old photos and videos” when she came to that precise realization. “I just started, like, reminiscing [about] the happy, lighthearted, fun Whitney that I used to be, and it really got me emotional and thinking I haven’t been happy,” she shared in her heartfelt speech.
“I used to be really fun, wild, and free-spirited,” Whitney elaborated in a confessional. “And that led to Justin losing his job.”

For Whitney, the implications that stemmed from that difficult time period lasted long after Justin returned to work during Season 4.
“That hit me at such a deep level that I felt like I had to change that part of me, to conform to who I thought Whitney had to be,” she continued on RHOSLC‘s Oct. 14 episode, before citing their recent business failure. “And in the end, I ended up losing it all anyways, so we’re getting back to being the fun, free-spirited, loving, wild, sexy Whitney that I am.”
As she further opened up to her castmates. “I want to go back to what’s meaningful to me, and I want to start here: having wine with my friends with this gorgeous scenery that we call home.”

Back in Episode 2, Whitney unpacked her heavy emotions surrounding the demise of her business with Justin, admitting to him, “I’m not doing very well with coping with it, the feeling of defeat. It’s been really hard.”
