    Rating: 4.5/5

Space heaters are usually noisy and boxy, while tower fans rarely move enough air. Shark’s TurboBlade Cool + Heat is the rare combo that does both well. In heater mode, it’s almost silent, yet it delivers a steady stream of warmth from the center vent.

As a fan, the TurboBlade offers smooth airflow, 180-degree oscillation, and a clever party trick: flip it upright for a tall stream or pivot it flat to create a gentle “air blanket” across the room. The magnetic remote makes everything easy from the couch; I only had to use the unit’s switch to change between heat and fan, then fine-tune from the remote.

I tested Shark’s popular fan-only TurboBlade earlier this year (it even earned a spot in BobVila.com’s Tool of the Year 2025 lineup), so I was eager to compare this upgraded version. Keep reading to find out how it stacked up.

    Versatile, Portable Climate Control

Quiet, Even Heating with Smart Temperature Control

The TurboBlade’s heater uses its center vent for a targeted, controlled stream of heat, while the outer casing stays cool to the touch—this design makes it safer around pets and kids. I liked how the heat spread evenly across my 200-square-foot office without hot spots or distracting noise. Thermo IQ mode automatically adjusted the output to maintain the temperature I selected, and it switched on quickly when the room temperature dropped.

Shark/Ninja has mastered the art of user-friendly design, so setup was effortless: I snapped the few parts together, plugged it in, flipped the on-unit switch to “Heat,” and adjusted everything else with the remote. It’s easily the quietest space heater I’ve ever used.

Smooth Cooling with Pivot and Oscillation Features

When switched to fan mode, the TurboBlade moves air with a consistent, bladeless stream rather than choppy bursts. I used the vertical orientation for focused airflow and the horizontal “air blanket” setting to distribute air across the whole room.

The 180-degree oscillation is a perk—something I appreciated when cooling my office without blowing papers everywhere. Fan noise rises slightly at higher speeds, but even on level 8 of 10, it’s still gentler than any pedestal fan I own. The airflow feels smoother, almost like a soft breeze rather than a draft.

    Intuitive Design and Magnetic Remote

The magnetic remote quickly became one of my favorite features. It docks neatly on the base, feels solid in hand, and allows me to adjust the temperature, fan speed, and oscillation from across the room. The controls are intuitive—no app or setup required—and it worked perfectly from 15 feet away.

I also appreciate that the tower’s slim profile allows it to fit easily between furniture when stored upright. Cleaning is simple too: the Dust Defense screen at the back pops off for a quick rinse under warm water.

Best For Quiet Spaces and Year-Round Use

At $399, the Shark TurboBlade isn’t cheap, but it replaces two appliances with just one. It’s whisper-quiet in heater mode, attractive enough to leave out year-round, and powerful enough for small- to medium-size rooms. The only feature I missed was the height adjustment from Shark’s earlier fan-only model—but the trade-off for dual functionality is well worth it. If you’re after a single, slim tower that keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer, this is a strong pick.
