If you haven’t yet checked off Alaska and Hawaii on your quest to visit all 50 states, Holland America Line has the perfect cruise for you. The 28-day Glaciers & Volcanoes: Alaska to Hawaii voyage might just be the best way to experience the two states in a single trip. In fact, even if you’ve already been to Alaska and Hawaii, you’re almost sure to experience something new during this itinerary.

Holland America’s Westerdam will sail round-trip from Seattle, departing on Aug. 31, 2025, and returning on Sept. 28, 2025. It first journeys north to Alaska, sailing the famous Inside Passage en route to ports like Sitka, Anchorage, Valdez, and Kodiak, with stops at famous sites like the Hubbard Glacier. Then it travels down the Aleutian Islands to Dutch Harbor, a major fishing community that you might know from Deadliest Catch. Speaking of fishing, you can experience Holland America’s Global Fresh Fish program in action on this itinerary — and have the opportunity to taste fresh catches from across Alaska and Hawaii.

After departing Alaska, the ship heads south for Hawaii on a five-day crossing. This is the perfect time to relax onboard Westerdam: book spa treatments, play a few games of pickleball, and catch the evening shows.

Then it’s time to cruise Hawaii. Ports of call include Nawiliwili on Kauai, Honolulu on Oahu (where guests will enjoy an overnight stay), and Kona and Hilo on the Big Island. This portion of the itinerary ends with a scenic cruise around the volcano Kilauea.

To wrap up this incredible journey, there’s another stretch of sea days — six days, to be precise — on the way back to Seattle, which grants you time for plenty of rest and relaxation after a busy stretch in Hawaii.

Sound like a dream trip? Rates start from just $3,774 per person for an interior cabin. (That’s less than $135 per day, inclusive of meals and entertainment.) You can book this trip now at hollandamerica.com.
