At first glance, the $339 Gyroor C1S may seem like an e-bike due to its larger wheels and height-adjustable, breathable, cushioned seat. However, it really is an electric scooter. It’s suited to riders of most shapes and sizes and can be packed into a small storage space, making it one of the more manageable scooters.

I’m a larger rider, so I usually gravitate toward bigger scooters, but the Gyroor C1S was surprisingly enjoyable. My entire household loved cruising around on it.

    Gyroor C1S Specifications

    Manufacturer: Gyroor
    Model: C1S
    Price: $339
Motor/type: 550-watt min. rear hub motor
    Top speed: 18.6 mph
    Battery: 36V-7.8Ah UL certified
Ride modes: 12 mph, 15 mph, 18.6 mph
    Estimated travel distance: 20 miles
    Weight: 48.5 pounds
    Payload supported: 265 pounds
    Tire type: 12-inch pneumatic tires
Brake type: Dual 140mm mechanical disc brakes
    IP rating: IP54

The C1S ships mostly assembled, with the necessary tools included for easy setup. The packaging was secure and the assembly process was straightforward.

This scooter comes with an exceptionally comfortable seat, and can accommodate riders from 5 feet to 6 feet tall. The 265-pound weight limit includes any items loaded into its two removable baskets — great for shopping trips without needing bags. The main basket, attached to the deck between the rider’s legs, is spacious enough to accommodate small animals, and the foot pegs on either side help improve stability. The handlebars fold down and the baskets are removable, making the unit easy to store when not in use. With the baskets removed, you also have a 9.5-inch wide-foot deck. Front and rear fenders keep the rider protected from road debris.

Powered by a 550-watt hub motor, the C1S can reach a maximum of 18.6 mph on its 12-inch air-filled wheels. The range is approximately 20 to 25 miles, depending on load, terrain and weather. Weighing just over 48 pounds, the C1S can fully charge in about five hours. Regarding handling, I found the Gyroor easy to zip around on, which felt completely unintimidating. The C1S takes off smoothly, and the dual mechanical disc brakes provide reliable stopping power. The scooter features front and rear lights, enhancing visibility in low-light conditions and it has a bell to alert pedestrians you’re coming. The onboard LCD is simple and readable in sunlight. It provides basic information such as current speed, battery level and miles traveled. The half-twist throttle is responsive and easy to use.

I recently visited Antigua and wished I could have taken the Gyroor C1S — it would have made an ideal way to explore the island. Its affordable price, combined with the convenience of the included baskets for carrying essentials, makes it highly suited to island living. Add in the larger wheels, which can handle bumpy roads better than smaller ones, and you’ve got a great ride for getting around.

By any standard, this scooter would work well anywhere, but in warmer climates, it’s especially convenient not to have anything like a backpack or shoulder bag pressing against you. My partner loaded this scooter with gardening supplies and appreciated how it handled hills. While you’re not zipping uphill, though, it maintains a steady and reliable speed.

When I mentioned I was working on this post, she said, “I love that scooter.” At the current holiday price of $339, what’s not to love? That’s less than some people spend on a month’s transit.

This scooter provides a stable option for those with reduced mobility. Seated riders can comfortably place their feet on the ground, offering security while maintaining freedom of movement.

This is a great entry point for anyone new to electric scooters at an affordable price. After gaining experience, you can upgrade to something more powerful, especially if you’re closer to the scooter’s weight limit.

But for now, if you need something to get little piggy to market, this will do the job without you crying “wee wee wee” all the way home from the bank.
