Sonnedix has appointed Simon Duckett as its new chief digital officer, a role created to support the company’s ongoing digital transformation.
Sonnedix is a renewable energy company specializing in solar and wind power plants. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Madrid, Sonnedix is advancing its digitalization efforts to enhance efficiencies and optimize operations.
The company said it aims to integrate modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to:
- Improve the performance and reliability of its renewable energy production
- Reduce costs
- Drive productivity across its operations
Who is the new Sonnedix chief digital officer?
As CDO, Simon Duckett will oversee Sonnedix’s digitalization strategy, focusing on the implementation of digital and AI tools to enhance analytics and automation within the business.
Duckett has more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership roles, having previously served as global head of IT and Digital at Sonnedix, where he managed the company’s technology infrastructure.
“We are pleased to appoint Simon to this new role,” said Axel Thiemann, CEO. “His experience in technology will be instrumental in driving our digitalization efforts as we continue to evolve and scale as a business.”
Before joining Sonnedix, Duckett held leadership positions at Arm, Tesco, BNP Paribas, Deloitte, and Accenture.

Sonnedix has an office in Miami and says it has over $8 billion in assets, a total capacity of over 10 gigawatts across 10 countries, and over 650 operating power plants.
