Although she described Ozempic as a “life-changer,” Dolores Catania said it might be time for her to stop the medication.

    How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and Bravo.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom reflected on her Ozempic experience in a recent interview with Hello! magazine, insisting the Type 2 diabetes drug had a “positive” effect on her and Paul “Paulie” Connell’s respective weight loss journeys.

“I kind of think I broke the seal on being honest about it,” she said about the medication use. “With Ozempic, it has been a life-changer for me and my boyfriend, Paul, who lost 60 pounds. He no longer takes a certain blood pressure medication and it’s been really positive.”

She continued: “I personally like it. I know it’s time for me to wean myself off or go on a lower dose but doctors have said there’s not really anything wrong with staying on it. You must always go through a real doctor, though, who knows what they are doing. Research is everything.”

Dolores gets candid about navigating menopause: “Intolerable”

Dolores also touched on her menopause experience and how hormone replacement therapy helped alleviate some of the symptoms. She told the outlet she began HRT after the hot flashes started but is now looking for an alternative remedy that suits more people.

“It’s just so rough for women… the hot flashes drive me around the bend,” she said. “So as of right now, I’m looking into a product that works for everyone. And when I do, I’ll let you know. Because some women can’t use HRT — It’s really unfair.

“I wouldn’t want to trade being a woman for anything because being a woman… I’ve got a lot out of my life, but it comes with a price,” The Traitors Season 3 cast member continued. “The price is the menopause. It’s rough. It impacts everything from your skin to your hair and of course the hormone weight gain, and lack of sleep. The hot flashes are just intolerable.”

Dolores touches on her and Paulie Connell’s workout regimen

Dolores shed more light on weight loss in a 2024 interview with The Sun, after losing nearly 30 pounds. She told the publication she had been on Ozempic for about two years before switching to Mounjaro, another Type 2 diabetes medication that lowers blood sugar and controls appetite. While the drug reportedly helped Dolores avoid junk food like cake, chips, and dip, she said regular exercise played a big role in her weight loss.

“I hate working out, but it’s starting to feel good to me,” she admitted, adding that she and Paulie hit the gym together “three to four times a week.”
