Tell me where you got this outfit.
I got it all with a one-day delivery from Amazon. Everything from head to toe, wig and all — except the shoes. I already had these. I can’t do the Diana hair because it gets in my way, so I stay in my lane and do my Minnelli. If I could wear white every day, I would. Everything is either beige or white in my house.

Is fashion a big part of your life?
I love it. You live in New York City, you can’t help but love fashion. My mom is in her 70s and wears a fur coat and Air Jordans in the projects. I kid you not.

Did you bring a date tonight?

I took my neighbors. One’s in a rehabilitation center and her husband went and got her. She’s an ex–opera star, and she loves music. Anytime I find a show, I call her and her husband, and they say, “Let’s go.”

    How was the concert?

There’s just something about her shows — you have that feeling of seeing an icon and knowing what they’re really like. She has said that she will never retire. I love that because people always want to tell women when the show is over. It’s amazing when we can push back and be like, “Nope, we will let you know when.”

Have you always lived in Brooklyn?

I grew up here. My family lived in the Marcy Projects — the same building as Jay-Z’s mom. I don’t know him, but my uncles and aunts know his family. Then when I turned 5, we moved to Coney Island. That movie Anora? That’s my old stomping grounds.

Was this your first Diana Ross concert?

I’ve seen her 37 times. I’ve loved her since I was 11 years old. I remember the first time I wore a kilt to see her. It was in 2022 in Vegas. She was like, “I love your skirt.” And I was like, “It’s a kilt, but thank you.” When I wear it, Diana does a thing where she’s dancing — we have a little dance battle. I think she likes the tassels I put on with it.

    Artist, Greenwood Heights

Do anything exciting before the concert?

I discovered that someone broke into my house. There were these shoe prints on my couch like someone stepped on it after coming through the window. There were a few burglaries on my street today, and I think the burglar hid in my house. They didn’t steal anything, so I’m not overthinking it.

Do you have a favorite Diana Ross song?

“The Boss.” Oh my gosh, you put that on and I’m twirling around everywhere. I was a late bloomer to her, but you can’t stop me now. My love for her is so intense.
