Ford has recalled 4,497 Bronco SUVs and Ranger trucks from model years 2024-2025 because a critical steering component can fail.
Ford tells federal safety regulators that the vehicles “may have a missing or improperly torqued nut on the ball joint that secures the front upper control arm to the knuckle assembly, which can result in the separation of the front upper control arm from the knuckle assembly.”
The company recalled nearly 30,000 electric trucks over the same issue earlier this week.
Drivers might hear a rattling noise as the problem develops, Ford says.
Dealers will fix the problem by checking that the nut is in place and properly torqued, replacing or tightening it as needed.
By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
