A federal appeals court dismantled certification of a class of Marriott International Inc. guests whose personal information was hacked in 2018.
Tuesday’s ruling is the second that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit has entered over class certification in the Marriott data breach case. In 2023, the Fourth Circuit remanded the case for further discussion, but this time, in a big win for Marriott, reversed U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey’s class certification order entirely.
