Ford has recalled just 10 F-150 pickups from model year 2021 because they might not have been repaired correctly under an earlier recall.
In 2024, Ford recalled F-150 models equipped with onboard scales that weigh the payload in the bed to fix a problem that could make their backup lamps inoperative.
The company fixed the issue with a software update. However, Ford later learned that the process dealers used to update software could sometimes fail but report success. The company can identify trucks that received a failed update.
So it is asking owners to bring 10 back in for a second pass. Dealers have a new software upload process that lets them verify success before returning a truck to its owner.
