Mitsubishi recalled 198,940 SUVs because their rearview cameras may not display an image.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2022-2024 Mitsubishi Outlander
- 2023-2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
The company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “improper software programming” can leave the cars with blank screens when in reverse.
Dealers will fix the issue with a software update. Because these cars are not capable of receiving updates over the air, owners must bring them to the dealership to have the patch uploaded. Software updates are typically quick service appointments.
By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
