Casa da Mata feels less like a traditional home and more like a suspended sanctuary rising gracefully above the dense canopy of Brazil’s rainforest. Tucked into a sunny clearing inside Reserva da Floresta—an ultra-private gated enclave in Campinas with just 24 estates and round-the-clock armed security—the 6.2-acre spread offers total privacy just 90 minutes from São Paulo.

Designed by the renowned Brazilian architect Fábio Muzetti, the 24,000-square-foot residence was built almost entirely by hand using natural materials like Cumaru, a sustainable hardwood native to Brazil, and massive, hand-finished local stones. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls slide completely open, filling every room with sunlight and dissolving the barrier between indoors and out. Soaring ceilings allow warm air to rise and cool breezes to blow through.

Six bedroom suites have heated floors (yes, even in the tropics the nights can get cool), the spacious kitchen is decked out with a coffee bar and a built-in parrilla, a sculptural staircase anchors the formal living room, and a second reception area is cozied up with a fireplace. There’s also an elevator and a minimalist guest house tucked discreetly into the landscape for visiting friends or extended family.

Wine enthusiasts will appreciate Cas da Mata’s underground wine crypt, capable of storing up to 1,800 bottles. When it’s time to uncork some bottles, the terrace provides the perfect ambiance. The wood-fired pizza oven, barbecue station, dining area, and lounge are complemented by a dry sauna, a spa, and a chemical-free infinity pool with a lap lane.

Beyond the main living and entertaining areas, stone pathways weave through the gardens and lead to a dedicated beach sports court and a half-sized football field. Despite its remote, jungle-like setting, the estate doesn’t skimp on modern creature comforts or sustainable practices. A private artesian well handles the water, and a fully independent solar energy system keeps the place powered up with a minimal energy footprint. Additionally, a 10-car garage accommodates vehicles, a professional-grade kennel provides accommodations for household pets, and essential functions, such as lighting, climate, and security systems, are handled by a comprehensive home automation system.

The gardens are made for relaxing, with a swimming pook, pizza oven, and barbecue.

Positioned where the Atlantic Forest gives way to the Brazilian Cerrado, the estate sits at a rare ecological crossroads—expect toucans, monkeys, and the occasional capybara in the backyard. Despite all the wildlife, you’re only 15 minutes from the city center and just a quick hop from Viracopos International Airport.

“It’s perfect for buyers looking for peace, beauty, and authenticity without giving up convenience,” listing agent Carolina Lara Arashiro of the Duek Lara Group at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty tells Mansion Global. On the market for a speck under $7 million, Arashiro shares the listing with colleague Andre Duek.
