Chopard is known for its bevy of lavish jewelry that drops season after season on the red carpet at Cannes. In that mix, you will often find floral and fairy tale themes, charming animal representations, and serious pops of color in heavyweight gems. Serving as a juxtaposition to those signatures, however, is its annual Ice Cube Collection—a monochrome offering in 18-karat ethical white or rose gold with various geometric arrangements of diamonds set in square settings. It offers more wearable…dare we say, every day, pieces that would feel just as at home on a red carpet as they would with a pair of jeans. It also provides an alternative for clients who prefer something a little more modern as opposed to the more overtly feminine pieces the house is known for. As it’s name suggests, it’s serving straight up cool.

The design was first introduced by the house in 1999, but since 2024 it has debuted as an annual capsule collection approaching the holidays. “Ice Cube has always represented purity and precision,” says Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and artistic director of Chopard, in a press statement. “But here, we pushed its language even further—into volume, movement, and expression. I wanted the pieces to feel wearable yet unexpected, like modern art for the body.” To that end, there are bracelets with diamonds set in mirror-polished cubes that vary in height like sparkling city scape for the wrist. On a one-of-a-kind modular necklace, a mix of nine strands in rose and white gold are presented with articulated cubes in two different sizes and heights for dimension. The necklace can be disassembled to be worn in three sets of three for a more toned-down look.

The collection also proposes non-traditional solitaire rings and unisex pieces. A 3-carat Asscher-cut diamond is placed diagonally across two parallel bands in 18-karat ethical white gold and diamonds, while a sleek pair of earrings topped with 1.2-carat Asscher-cut diamond solitaires and dangling lines diamond-set cubes are perfect to match. The latter can also be worn as just solitaires. Meanwhile, architectural brooches are perfectly unisex and would look sophisticated on anyone’s lapel.

But if you need a full look, you could be invited to peruse Scheufele’s couture creations. The co-CEO and designer debuted custom gowns and evening in 2023 at the 76th annual Cannes film festival in a smart full-circle move to provide the full look to accompany Chopard’s jewels. And, no surprise here, it’s selling. For the Ice Cube Collection, she has designed an accompanying capsule of 9 couture looks to pair with the jewels. Are you even a VIP client if you don’t have both?
